The students at the school come from low-socioeconomic societies and the school itself was in dire need of support.  OCF has initiated several vital projects there including:
Enrichment programs

After school enrichment classes, this year we have managed to offer a very wide variety of enrichment programs designated to enhance students’ learning experience with activities that develop talents and expand interests to improve confidence and self-esteem. Some of the programs offered are:

NEW!! ZOOTHERAPY AT KFAR SABA! We are so excited to introduce zootherapy this year especially after the emotional upheaval our children have gone through this year.  We feel this new program will be extremely beneficial for them:

Zootherapy involves interacting with animals to promote emotional well-being in children. Through supervised sessions, children develop empathy, responsibility, and trust as they bond with therapy animals. These interactions offer comfort, reduce stress, and boost self-esteem, fostering positive emotional connections and overall well-being.

Taekwondo – Taekwondo offers numerous benefits for emotionally challenged children and children in general. It promotes discipline, self-control, and confidence, fostering a sense of achievement through skill progression. Additionally, it provides a structured environment that helps children develop focus and emotional regulation skills, leading to improved mental well-being and resilience.

Robotics – Robotics provides valuable benefits for children, including those who are emotionally challenged. It enhances problem-solving skills, encourages creativity, and fosters teamwork through collaborative projects. Engaging with robotics also promotes perseverance and resilience as children learn to overcome challenges and debug their creations, ultimately boosting their self-esteem and confidence.

Horse-riding – Our Horse riding therapy, conducted in small groups at specialized stables, offers our children unique emotional benefits. Interacting with horses fosters trust, empathy, and responsibility, as children form bonds with these gentle animals. Riding sessions provide a sense of accomplishment and confidence, promoting emotional growth and well-being through therapeutic connections with the horses.

Computer programming  – Computer programming benefits children by enhancing logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity. It fosters resilience through error troubleshooting and boosts self-confidence as children see their solutions come to life.

Arts and crafts – Arts and crafts provide a creative outlet for children and emotional exploration, fostering self-expression and fine motor skills and fosters a sense of accomplishment as children create tangible works of art. It promotes patience, attention to detail, and adaptability, contributing to emotional well-being and growth.

Woodwork – Woodwork offers children a hands-on experience that enhances their creativity and problem-solving skills. It fosters patience and attention to detail as they work with materials, promoting a sense of accomplishment. Engaging in woodwork encourages independence and self-confidence as children see their projects come to life through their own efforts, contributing positively to their emotional development.

Music – Music, whether through instruments or singing, nurtures self-expression and emotional growth in children. Learning various instruments cultivates discipline and perseverance, while singing fosters creativity. Mastery of different techniques enhances self-esteem and emotional well-being.

Horticultural program – Our horticultural program offers our children a hands-on experience with nature, fostering patience and responsibility as they care for plants. It encourages a sense of connection to the environment and promotes relaxation and stress relief through gardening activities. Engaging in horticulture cultivates a deeper appreciation for the natural world and provides opportunities for creativity and learning, contributing positively to emotional well-being.

Lunch for children in school, This project has grown significantly and we now provide sandwiches for 150 underprivileged children in 3 different schools.

Summer program-  OCF initiated and funded a 3 week summer day camp for the growing amount of children on the site of the Etz Haim school in Kfar Saba. These children are from some of the poorest families in Israel – whose parents are not able to provide any summer holiday or activities for them. (see photos in Gallery).
